As shown so far, we generally agree with Sanctions. There are other people that completely disagree with Sanctions and we understand why. After looking at both sides of the argument, and even though we agree with them, we will talk about why people may disagree with them. Although sanctions are non-violent, people believe that they may bring harm to the lower class as a result. Instead of harming the government that they are aimed at, Sanctions tend to cause people to suffer as they run short on supplies and resources they depend on. The change in the economic status of the country could lead to the barring of resources to the lower class, as they can no longer afford them. When the medical goods and basic foods are what are being sanctioned, the poor are in an even worse situation as they do not have the power to change policy. This is increased if the sanctioned country refuses to comply to the demands of the other countries, as sanctions are usually enacted by the United Nations. Further, sanctions can also cause worse conflict that is not needed which leads to innocent people  suffering as a result. Countries may use Sanctions to protect their country and prevent wars from happening, but there is a chance that a war may still break out, possibly as a result of increased tensions. Overall, the main point is that Sanctions take time to work and during that time the innocent suffer more and more, while the sanction may not be means to an end.
